 Choice $525 Near-Gem Original, Oregon Beaver Collection.. An exceptionally well preserved 1869-S F-102 example with crusty gray patina on both sides. Mint frost surrounds the legend, reverse wreath and is found inside the gown folds. Residual luster has a steely texture. Reverse die is starting to exhibit die erosion that results in thick "orange peel" fields during later die states. Fully struck without any blemishes worthy of mention. CAC has only approved a total of 30 in all grades with two at the AU50 level. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval.
