$550 		Louisiana Purchase Exposition, Choice Original, City by The Bay Collection.. The Mint struck a pair of one-dollar gold commemoratives in this year to honor the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, one featuring a portrait of Jefferson, and the other depicting the recently deceased President McKinley. The two designs shared a common reverse marking the Exposition held in St. Louis. This lightly-circulated Jefferson piece exhibits rich orange color with hints of copper patina evident on both sides. PCGS has certified 3,687 pieces total and assigns a value of $575 in AU58. Housed in a PCGS Gen 4.0 (1998-2002) holder. PCGS #7443. December 1969
