Gem $8500 Gem Original, Oregon Beaver Collection.. Booming, frosty luster flows from the glass-smooth surfaces of this GFRC-rated Gem example. Centers are untoned and lead toward russet patina that intensifies at the rims. This is the preferred “look” of many collectors, as the brilliant silver color in the central devices contrasts with evolving shades in the fields. The toning scheme on both sides is virtually identical, a characteristic associated with originally preserved pieces. Star centers are well defined, while most of the claws exhibit separation if faintly so. The CAC census includes 75 pieces total, with only three coins finer, all in MS67. PCGS counts but four pieces at the MS67 level, reinforcing the rarity of this issue in the highest grades. The CAC price guide value is $7,500, while PCGS quotes $8,000. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval.
