An important offering of the 1844-O Briggs 3-F die pairing with heavily cracked reverse die. Surfaces are strictly original and covered with mottled gray-rose patina. Bright light viewing exposes frosty residual luster with grays transitioning to rose and faint gold on the reverse. The reverse is a die variety study with spider web like die cracks throughout the legend to rim. A closed 10x loupe inspection revealed no surfaces anomalies to discuss. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder. . One does not often see this date at the AU grade level and an excellent opportunity to secure an example.
