Original $1000 Scarce New Orleans Issue, Lightly Mirrored, Complete Strike, New Jersey Collection. The 1904 New Orleans struck Barber half compares well with other scarce dates such as the 1903-S and 1908-S. This New Jersey Collection release presents reflective luster from lightly mirrored fields. The strike is complete with a full compliment of tail feathers and very sharp wing tips. Under a bright light, the radiance is eye catching along with moderate cartwheels. A 10x review located light wear on the cheek and in the fields otherwise the surfaces are undisturbed. PCGS has graded only 8 pieces at the certified grade with rapid pricing advancements in AU55 and AU58. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder.
