Gem $550 New March 28! Watery Mirrors, Pristine Surfaces, Gem Original. Let's start the description for this 1899 proof Barber dime with a JUST BUY IT NOW recommendation. Yet another release from a Texas bank box that has been off the market for several decades. A GFRC-Gem quality rating has been assigned as the watery mirrors are pristine and completely hairline free which is atypical given today's inflated grading standards. Under a bright light, the reflective radiance is bold and pleasing. The GFRC images leave a bit to be desired in terms of illustrating the overall eye appeal. This lot has been submitted to CAC but failed to sticker. It is certainly a borderline example and will please the new owner. Housed in NGC Gen 17 (2004-2008) holder. Please note that the holder has a few wispy hairlines on the plastic that do appear on the images.
